International Volunteer
Programme

An opportunity for those interested in international development to become qualified first aid instructors, before joining our partners in communities across East & Southern Africa.

A challenging and rewarding introduction to global healthcare, with full training provided at our partner Universities in the UK. Please read about the charity's ethics here before applying.

If you already live in one of our partner countries (Zambia, Malawi, Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda) you can contact your local First Aid Africa office for information about how to get involved.

Footage from the field

Our international volunteering programme isn't for everyone. We're looking for a really specific type of person.

Before you apply, read our guidance notes, and take a few minutes to hear from some of our staff in the field, about the impact we're having and why you should think carefully before hitting that "apply now" button.

Thanks to our colleagues in Zambia for filming this short clip.

We work hard. But the fruits of that hard work are obvious when you watch videos like this from rural community groups.

Check out the 'Lifesavers of Chibombo' to see some of the challenges our community partners face, and how they are overcoming them.

Our work is not for the faint-hearted.

Finally, our staff got together and came up with their top reasons why someone absolutely should NOT apply for First Aid Africa. Here, Exavery Thozo reads us his favourites.

Spaces on our international expedition teams are limited, but if you understand our values, our ethics, and our ambition then click below and apply to join us in the field.
